What I work on
More than thirty years in production environments, from OS/VS1 to z/OS. These are the areas where I can help.

 

1. IBM Mainframe and z/OS
Hands-on since 1977. I supported a large bank’s production z/OS environment in 2018–2019 and refreshed my skills in 2024 with IBM Z Xplore (All Star) and z/Architecture Assembler.

 

2. Batch operations and workload scheduling
Job dependencies, processing windows, restart logic and failure handling across the batch schedule. I led it with Control-M and ChangeMan, including mainframe and distributed workloads.

 

3. Command Center and incident response
24x7 monitoring, escalation and coordination of technical teams to restore service fast, followed by root cause analysis so the failure does not come back.

 

4. Production change management
Change processes that protect critical workloads. I chaired the Production Change Committee that evaluated every change to infrastructure and batch processing.

 

5. Data center operations, continuity and disaster recovery
Three data centers, contingency planning, capacity and expansion. I know what it takes to keep a bank’s processing running around the clock.

 

6. Mainframe consolidation and technology integration
About four years rationalizing and standardizing Santander’s mainframe environment after the Banespa acquisition, then the Banco Real integration: removing redundancy, optimizing CPU, memory and storage, and running multiple institutions in one LPAR with strict security segregation.
